Inspired by true events, The Revenant is an epic story of survival and transformation on the American frontier. While on an expedition into the uncharted wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally mauled by a bear, then abandoned by members of his own hunting team. Alone and near death, Glass refuses to succumb. Driven by sheer will and his love for his Native American wife and son, he undertakes a 200-mile odyssey through the vast and untamed West on the trail of the man who betrayed him: John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). What begins as a relentless quest for revenge becomes a heroic saga against all odds towards home and redemption. The Revenant is directed and co-written by Alejandro G. Iñárritu.
Full of great scenes with excellent DiCaprio’s performance where many characters have to feat of strength despite many bloody scenes and good man chases, the story makes something unique. The most shocking scene was when Leonardo DiCaprio is attacked by a female bear. Definitely a brilliant film with many ways around revealing crucial plot points, especially the murder of the son and, perhaps, the exact nature of his near death experience. Inarritu and Lubezki’s visual signature will make you enjoy over the 156-minute running time, the best places of Canada and Argentina, and astonishing sound design, photography and scenes.
Now this great film will be available on DVD and Blu-ray in which characters have to face dead and some battles during the harsh winter and wilderness to track down the confidant who betrayed him. The Revenant spots are available here for DHD and Blu-ray in English, Spanish and French languages with subtitles in the same languages.
