During 114 minutes, A wartime drama begins in 1940’s. Director Christian Carion  reflected the real escape of the German invasion, the inhabitants of a small village in the north of France take to the road, like millions of other French people. On this exodus, the villagers take with them a German child, whose father opposed the Nazi regime and who has been jailed in Arras for lying about his nationality. During the chaos, the father is freed and sets out to find his son, accompanied by a Scottish soldier who is trying to get back to England.

Definitely is a film full of emotions and quality of production. Parenthood in war times get worst particularly in Nazi’s  government.  Hans (August Diehl), and his son, Max (Joshio Marlon), who rush their homeland to a rural fields of a Nord-Pas-de-Calais reflected the worst pain and suffering of families separated. A bitter taste of reality of all the emotions  of that epic war and a father’s love story came rushing back vividly descriptive and well structured.
