Aquarium of the Pacific and Harbor Breeze Cruises had a boat excursion on Tuesday, July 18, for the chance to witness the largest whales on Earth (blue and fin whales)
Endangered blue whales and fin whales are being spotted in the waters off Long Beach. The Aquarium of the Pacific and Harbor Breeze Cruises set sail for the chance to see these whales while learning recent findings about them and other whales and many people was on board the M/V Espada, the specialized high-speed whale watching catamaran docked next to the Aquarium. Experts from the Aquarium’s blue revealed how we can identify individual whales that are being spotted in local urban waters. Blue whales are the largest animal on the planet and frequent Southern California’s urban ocean during the summer—a busy and bustling place intensely used by both people and wildlife.
Blue whales are well known for their great size and beauty but unfortunately these cetaceans are endangered in the last decades. All people must go to see and learn more about these majestic animals.
