The third annual Blue Diamond Gala was chaired by Mary Hart and Burt Sugarman, Sharon and Joe Hernandez, and Cathi and John Bendheim.

The champion world boxer Johnny Tapia was found dead in his Albuquerque, N.M., home on Sunday. Johnny Tapia won major world championships in three weight classes and was one of the elite fighters of the late 1990s and early 2000s. He is a boxer from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Police stated that his death is uknown and an autopsy will be done to determine reasons for his death. He was 45 years old.
