Fred (Colm Meaney) lives a quiet and isolated life in his car, having lost all hope of improving his situation and re-entering the ranks of society. That all changes when he forms an unlikely friendship with Cathal (Colin Morgan), a dope-smoking 21-year-old with a positive attitude, who becomes his parking lot neighbor. Sharing laughs, and the hard times too, Fred and Cathal find the simple, free pleasures of life.
The screenplay merely hints at everyone’s backstory, but instead of coming off as mysteriously ambiguous but has comedy, melodrama and crime-thriller. Living on the margins is tough but Fred manages to retain its characters’ humanity. The only thing that missed in this movie is a bit of details about both the character’s past life. However, it is a genuinely touching film, both funny and sad moments.

Lawless will take your breath
By GalaTView Staff
Based on the novel “The Wettest County In The World” by Matt Bondurant, Lawless is inspired by the true story of the Bondurant boys, bootlegging siblings who take the law into their own hands in Prohibition-era Virginia. The three brothers make a run for the American Dream in this epic, gangster tale set during the nation’s most notorious crime wave. It’s extreme bloody violence, full of drama with content to merely skim the surface especially in the final showdown. However, there are enough side dishes to make the meal worthwhile. Outstanding performances by Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman and this movie was directed by John Hillcoat and written by Nick Cave. You can enjoy this movie in Theaters August 29, 2012.
A simple tale in “The Hidden Blade”

From director Yamada Yoji (The Twilight Samurai) comes The Hidden Blade (a.k.a. Kakushi Ken Oni no Tsume) is the epic tale of a samurai raised to respect tradition and a demanding moral code. After a political coup fails he is ordered to prove his innocence by finding and killing a former friend, samurai and brilliant swordsman. He secretly enlists the help of their former master who entrusted him with the secret of The Hidden Blade. Now he must choose between duty and honor.
Definitely, is a Yamada’s delicate drama with swordplay with the mythic ideal of the samurai culture so in the main characters with their personalities reflect bravery and loyalty in themes of evolution and change and how it affected the traditional Japanese lifestyle while also learning new military strategies, particularly the mastery of Western artillery, during the mid-19th Century. Munezo (Masatoshi Nagase) also has a personal complication. He is secretly in love–so secretly, he may not even admit it to himself–with his family’s maid, the sweet and beautiful country girl, Kie (Takako Matsu). His passion leads him to rescue her from a loveless marriage after she leaves his household; the samurai even shocks propriety by carrying away the low-caste young woman on his back. The cast is impressive Masatoshi Nagase, Takako Matsu and Hidetaka Yoshioka are the most talented actors in this genre. Many takes are full of action so this movie is one of those that are worth watching so you can get it on June 19th in DVD and blu-ray with Japanese: Dolby TrueHD 5.1, Cantonese: Dolby Digital 2.0 with subtitles in Mandarin (Traditional), English and Spanish.
A frenetic action thriller comes with “Safe House”

“No one is safe” especially with a rogue CIA agent who has been hiding for years, Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington) one day turns himself in, and he’s brought to a safe house in Johannesburg, South Africa managed by low-level agent Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds) for debriefing. When the Safe House is attacked by a group of mercenaries, Matt finds himself on the run with Tobin, while trying to get to the bottom of who wants him killed.
Brutal fight scenes and intensity in each scene with car chases added life to what would have been an overall flat movie and makes it more entertaining. Sometimes, the camera shakes a bit too much and detracts during a few encounters. Although Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds) plays the same character over and over again and he hasn’t done much outside, is the opposite of Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington) does have his moments to let loose.
There is a lack of feminine touch so all of the inner workings fail and unfortunately, “Safe House” just becomes too predictable even Director Espinosa did an extraordinary job of many action-packed sequences for the duration of some scenes. Now you can enjoy this movie on a DVD/blu-ray this coming June 5th with Master Audio 5.1 (English), Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo (English DVS), DTS 5.1 Surround (French), DTS 5.1 Surround (Spanish) and subtitles in English, French, and Spanish.
You will be “Safe” with Jason Statham
Review by Jenny Alvarez

A second-rate cage fighter on the mixed martial arts circuit, Luke Wright lives a numbing life of routine beatings and chump change… until the day he blows a rigged fight. Wanting to make an example of him, the Russian Mafia murders his family and banishes him from his life forever, leaving Luke to wander the streets of New York destitute, haunted by guilt, and tormented by the knowledge that he will always be watched, and anyone he develops a relationship with will also be killed. But when he witnesses a frightened twelve-year-old Chinese girl, Mei, being pursued by the same gangsters who killed his wife, Luke impulsively jumps to action… and straight into the heart of a deadly high-stakes war
Safe does a smart job of playing to Statham’s strengths in its action sequences. This movie is full of predictable scenes with few gunfights.
Luke (Jason Statham) is a brave man who faces all Russian gangsters who kidnapped Mei (Catherine Chan). Both Statham and Chan work really well together. Then you consider the many political implications. We eventually meet the slimy mayor (Chris Sarandon), who of course is involved because this thing goes all the way to the top, and the cops (including Robert John Burke as the Captain) who resent Luke for ratting them out for their corrupt behavior years ago. The only bad point for this movie is when Mei is involved in many blood and bullets scenes but Jason Statham makes this movie worthy of the full range of his talent and everybody ought to be good at something, and when it comes to this kind of thing, Statham is very good, indeed. This is released on April 27th in many American movie theaters.
"Captain America" Sequel in 2014
Marvel Studios and parent company Disney announced that the “Captain America” followup scheduled to debut April 4, 2014. After being frozen for decades, and resuscitated in the strange new world of contemporary New York City, Cap is now planning to take it one day at a time,” stated CNN.

The Games begins today only with one winner

GalaTView talked to Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss): “My career sees a pattern and I don’t know what else to do. My character was already in my mind and nobody has seen her before so most people already had created pictures and idea of what your character is. When I read and how understood her in my perception about my understanding what I’m preparing her in the movie. My defense is like Justin Timberlake sings, one girls was painted but it was never on me and the guys over signed me and I said in between and Liam and Josh started to say something in Australian accent because somebody passed out and where I was barely have a chance to pronounce my name. I had training in running, triathlon, art climb, combat and yoga. Mentally I had many dreams about 100% were involved and I like to stay in a good shape doing something mainly with cardio exercises. At the top on my characters’ dialog has been described in the book but even you read it is different. Our director was genius when we filmed in an open area because is harder doing in a studio. The adapters of this film were amazing and sometimes I had some complications in my emotions in the cameras but I could solve them because we always trusted on the director.”
Josh Hutcherson (Peeta):“I think that Peeta is more unspoken intention we had whipping and shoot each other and it was an awesome experience and technically and physically, I had to prepare myself in a good way with fiber, protein and the training of each other. For some dialogues in the book do not the same it has popular understand so the audience will notice some changes. In some scenes most of us took very serious some instructions about film. When you are hearing games you can make jokes but not we were more serious, especially when he becomes skillful in hiking and had love in the story so that was a good motivation. So I had to understand his kindness through his mother and find a way ho was going to work out in the movie in the exposition of the dialog.”
