Long Beach Arena in Long Beach will have six performances only of Dralion from November 1 – 4. Fusing the 3000 year-old tradition of Chinese acrobatic arts with the multidisciplinary approach of Cirque du Soleil, Dralion (pronounced “Dra-lee-on”) draws its inspiration from Eastern philosophy and its never-ending quest for harmony between humans and nature.

The show’s name is derived from its two emblematic creatures: the dragon, symbolizing

the East, and the lion, symbolizing the West. In Dralion, the four elements that govern the natural order take on a human form. Thus embodied, each element is represented by its own evocative color: air is blue; water is green; fire is red; earth is ochre. In the world of Dralion, cultures blend, Man and Nature are one, and balance is achieved. The best part is when the ‘clowns’ have the humor for an adult subtlety to it but is a familiar show. There is not so much a narrative story-line to Dralion as other shows similar to this one. However, it has exotic elements, clever clowning, world class acts of amazing skill and lovely grace of 52 world-class acrobats, gymnasts, musicians, singers and comedic characters with beautifully evocative music, elegant costumes and many dancing dragons. Sometimes some people couldn’t applaud at the end of an act because most of them  were too amazed- just sat there, trying to process what they had just seen, as a spectator you will have a wonderful time!

Your words will fly in “The Flying Swords of Dragon Gate”

As one of the defining stories of the wuxia genre, the saga of the Dragon Gate Inn has already been the source material for two classic martial arts films.  Now legendary writer/director/producer Tsui Hark revisits these legends in THE FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE bringing new characters and ancient conflicts to life through the vivid depth of 3D and the epic scale of the IMAX image.

The film picks up three years after the disappearance of the enigmatic innkeeper Jade and the massive fire that consumed the Inn. A new Dragon Inn has risen from the ashes, staffed by a band of marauders.  Masquerading as law-abiding citizens by day, they use the cover of night to continue their true calling as fortune hunters.  For legend says that the Dragon Inn is the site of a lost city buried in the desert – and a treasure that spans dynasties hidden deep within.

As they await a storm strong enough to unearth the hidden fortress, they are surprised by the arrival of a pregnant concubine and her mysterious protector, Ling.  They have come seeking the sanctuary of the Inn – as two factions from the Imperial City close in on them to claim her unborn child.

Leading the Imperial Assassins is the merciless Eunuch, Yu who hopes to reclaim the Emperor’s child before she can fall into the hands of the righteous General Zhao.

In terms of visual spectacle, Tsui Hark is definitely at the top of his game, both the action choreography and the initiation of 3D into the ‘wuxia’ genre easily establishing itself as one of the must-see classics. All the choreographs are with a exuberant dance between breakneck, 90s-style high-wire action and weapons (especially flying logs) that strike with a graphic impact never seen in 2D films. The ensuing development should consolidate the physical momentum of the first part by easing off the pace to flesh out main characters and intensify the strategic standoff between Yu’s and Zhao’s followers. Sets and costumes are loudly exotic but very colorful so you can enjoy this movie in Theaters August 31, 2012.

Martin lives in Paris with Claire, although the passion has gone out of their relationship.  When he learns of the death of his mother, Martin returns to his home town in California to take care of the legal formalities.  Shortly after his arrival, he meets up with Linda, an old family friend who takes him to his mother’s apartment in an area he got to know well when he was living with her.  Immediately, he experiences a resurgence of childhood memories.  The ensuing emotional crisis drives him to Tijuana, where he hopes to find Lola, a young Mexican woman he once knew and who occupied an important part in his mother’s life.   He finds her at the Americano, a nightclub where she dances every evening.

Martin brings a heart touching when he receives news that his mother has died in the United States despite of he hasn’t felt a connection to his mother in years many  memories and how he might be able to recreate his mother and the impression comes back again.

All the main actors were: Mathieu Demy, Salma Hayek, Geraldine Chaplin and more. The plot is somewhat predictable, but is deeply moving drama especially in some interesting aspects and many subjects are involved in this movie such as prostitution, emotional journeys, sadness, robbery, death, depression and so on. Hayek’s role is another stripper character with no changes to her previous roles. Martin’s shows a deep voyage between past and present (something that anyone’s can suffer in anytime of life).

True Happiness Comes When your 33

According to a recent study form the U.K. people reach the happiest point in their lives when their 33-years-old. At this age, people have a “can do” spirit, they are more confident, they are experienced, and sex is definitely better. “[That age] is enough time to have shaken off childhood naivety and the wild scheming of teen-aged years without losing the energy and enthusiasm of youth,” stated Donna Dawson, a psychologist. “Innocence has been lost, but our sense of reality is mixed with a strong sense of hope, a ‘can do’ spirit, and a healthy belief in our own talents and abilities.” James Franco, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Rachel McAdams are some successful 33-year-olds.
