Renoir is a touch of love on a canvas

Set on the French Riviera in 1915, RENOIR follows Impressionist master Pierre-Auguste Renoir (Michel Bouquet), who is tormented by the loss of his wife, the pains of arthritis, and the news that his son Jean (Vincent Rottiers) has been wounded in action. When the incandescent Andrée, aka Dédé (newcomer Christa Théret,) miraculously enters his world, the artist is filled with an unexpected energy. Blazing with life, radiantly beautiful Dédé will become Renoir’s last model inspiring some of his most renowned works including Les baigneuses (The Bathers). Back at the family home in Cagnes-sur-Mer to convalesce, Jean too falls under the spell of the new, redheaded star in the Renoir firmament. In their Mediterranean Eden, and in the face of his father’s fierce opposition, he falls in love with this wild, untamable spirit, and as he does so, within weak-willed, battle-shaken Jean, a filmmaker begins to grow.
This film has the complex relationship between father and son. Pierre-Auguste may be haunted by the loss of his younger wife and fearful of what might befall two of his sons serving during World War 1, but painting is still his life. Renoir includes his sense that wars shatter natural cross-border fraternities, the harshness of the class prejudices, the increasing disrespect for culture and also how his last muse was. This film is full of beautiful scenes of the countryside and some dialogues are plain but witty in some contents of Renoir’s canvasses into a visual blast of natural color and sound on the big screen full of romantic attentions in 111 minutes (A little long so you should be full of energy otherwise it could be very boring).

The Oranges is a comedy about two families, who have been lifelong friends, and the hilarity that ensues when a rebellious daughter returns home for the holidays and causes a scandal that forces everyone to re-examine what happiness really means to them.
David and Paige Walling (Hugh Laurie, Catherine Keener) and Terry and Cathy Ostroff (Oliver Platt, Allison Janney) are best friends and neighbors living on Orange Drive in suburban New Jersey. Their comfortable existence goes awry when prodigal daughter Nina Ostroff (Leighton Meester), newly broken up with her fiancé Ethan (Sam Rosen), returns home for Thanksgiving after a five-year absence. Rather than developing an interest in the successful son of her neighbors, Toby Walling (Adam Brody), which would please both families, it’s her parents’ best friend David who captures Nina’s attention.
When the connection between Nina and David becomes undeniable, everyone’s lives are thrown into upheaval, particularly Vanessa Walling’s (Alia Shawkat), Nina’s childhood best friend. It’s not long before the ramifications of the affair begin to work on all of the family members in unexpected and hilarious ways, leading everyone to reawaken to their lives and reassess what it means to be happy. This movie seems to have a little bit of everything where the main element is love between a man and woman and this man is married but has a complicated relationship with a very young woman due she does not have enough maturity as man has. It’s a great relationship with differences of age but their reality is harder than they thought so their age and responsibilities make a difference in this couple. Definitely is a good movie will make you to think about relationships and modern couples of these days that you can enjoy it in Theaters October 5th, 2012.
Sleepwalk with me is a heartwarming comedy

Sleepwalk with Me is a comedy written by, directed by and starring comedian Mike Birbiglia, based on a true story he told in his one-man off-Broadway show and his first book. The film follows the journey of an aspiring comedian in denial about his girlfriend, his career, and, most significantly, his sleepwalking disorder. The more he fails to express his true feelings, the more his anxiety comes out in increasingly funny and dangerous sleepwalking incidents.
This is incorporating several scenarios and characters and inserting them into ludicrous situations including the pressure to marry, the mystery of sleep disorders and the single-minded, near-delusional ambition of a comedian who’ll drive long miles in a beat-up Volvo to score some laughs – or possibly none. In few words is a self-portrait of a guy who can’t control a major portion of his life when you get right down to it, could describe almost any of us.
It was a smart move for Birbiglia so makes the movie easy to like.

Lawless will take your breath

Based on the novel “The Wettest County In The World” by Matt Bondurant, Lawless is inspired by the true story of the Bondurant boys, bootlegging siblings who take the law into their own hands in Prohibition-era Virginia. The three brothers make a run for the American Dream in this epic, gangster tale set during the nation’s most notorious crime wave. It’s extreme bloody violence, full of drama with content to merely skim the surface especially in the final showdown. However, there are enough side dishes to make the meal worthwhile. Outstanding performances by Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman and this movie was directed by John Hillcoat and written by Nick Cave. You can enjoy this movie in Theaters August 29, 2012.
“Beloved” comes with many deep and true spiritual messages

Beloved is a dense, complex, hard story that will first touch and then break your heart. Catherine Deneuve and Chiara Mastroianni play mother and daughter (as they are in real life) in a French soap opera of love. In the freewheeling Paris of the ‘60s, young Madeleine (Ludivine Sagnier)—who has gone from selling shoes to sleeping with men for money—falls for a handsome Czech doctor, Jaromil (Rasha Bukvic), who she soon marries and joins in Prague. A baby daughter is born, but Jaromil’s infidelities and the arrival of Russian tanks in Prague lead Madeleine back to France—though the love between them still burns. Thirty years later in London, we follow Madeleine’s daughter, Vera (Chiara Mastroianni), who has fallen in love with a musician (American actor Paul Schneider) who is incapable of devoting himself to her, while her ex (Honoré regular Louis Garrel) still pines for her. Meanwhile in Paris, a re-married Madeleine (Catherine Deneuve) has rekindled her love affair with Jaromil (director Milos Forman, in a rare acting role). Frequent Honoré collaborator Alex Beaupain (LOVE SONGS, DANS PARIS) composed the emotional, César-nominated score for this light-hearted but ultimately moving exploration of the changing nature of relationships. This was the latest film from French writer-director Christophe Honoré (LOVE SONGS, DANS PARIS).
