The Lone Ranger” crumbled at the global box office, blaming U.S. critics for one of the biggest Hollywood train wrecks of the year. The movie blows dead toads. It had several moments where it could have took off but just never made it. You made a stinker, guys especially with Tonto his character who the real one – didn’t wear bird poo on his face.

Blue Jasmine will mark your perception in life

By Jenny Alvarez

Starring: Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin, Sally Hawkins, Peter Sarsgaard, Bobby Cannavale, Andrew Dice Clay, and Louis C.K.

“Blue Jasmine” is a depressing drama in which a life crisis causes a woman to head to San Francisco, where she reconnects with her adoptive sister. She is self-delusion after an affair of her husband and the writer-director’s film-per-year fertility with original screenplays is unrivaled and enormously impressive, but “Blue Jasmine”, in tone and execution, is a Woody Allen film to the core and reflects the times we are living in. Jasmine is a character that many people may not like but Blanchett’s performance along with the rest of the cast transcends easy judgement. The sisters  class differences are explained by a turning point in their adolescences: Ginger was less liked by their adoptive mother, and ran away at an early age, eking out her own living. Jasmine’s M.O. is that she’ll begin a seemingly innocuous story — necessarily about her past life. This fill is full of flash backs and definitely it is a charming story with a fairy-tale quality.

On a trip through Chile a boorish American expat named Jamie (Michael Cera) and three Chilean brothers plan to set off in search of the prized San Pedro cactus and its promise of beachy hallucinations. But in the previous night’s drunken stupor Jamie invites a free- spirited fellow American (Gaby Hoffmann), whose devil-may-care worldview gives them more of an adventure than any of them had bargained for. Red 2 is a modestly entertaining action

Photos and articule by: Alfonso De Elias

In Red 2, the high-octane action-comedy sequel to the worldwide sleeper hit, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing, next-generation lethal device that can change the balance of world power. To succeed, they’ll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the technologically advanced super weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow.  Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills and each other to rely on as they try to save the world-and stay alive in the process. This movie is harmless enough and the first one was a lot of fun and I expect the Red 2 to be as well. Bruce Willis has amazing facial expressions! Watching him being surprised or irritated is just great! Two thumbs up for this new movie

The audience from LA took hats off to all the performers in Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey

Photos and video by Jenny Alvarez

This show is well known as the world’s largest show for the whole family and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey presents his show entitled “BUILT TO AMAZE!” now appearing in Southland, Los Angeles from July 10th to August 4th.There were some remarkable innovations included the split-level trapeze artists, and the lions and tigers perform was so great and the interesting parts of the circus were the tight rope folks, the guys rolling on these spinners, and the acrobats jumping on the wire at the end. Customs were full of different colors and comedy of the clowns was so pure and full of happiness. The live band was musical, with original rhythm in each performance. Finally I would suggest this to anyone who wants to have a great time of any age.

A lie can ruin your whole life: The Hunt

By Jenny Alvarez

The Hunt was directed and co-written by Thomas Vinterberg, the film is a disturbing depiction of how a lie becomes the truth when gossip, doubt and malice are allowed to flourish and ignite a witch-hunt that soon threatens to destroy an innocent man’s life.

Lucas (Mads Mikkelsen) is a man whose career is ruined because of a 5-year-old girl’s false accusation of molestation. The screenplay is a master class in exposition, drama, character portraiture and sequence of many scenes and sensitive topics are involved such as sex abuse, mistrustfulness from of a small Danish community which needs to be handled with the sort of care afforded to genuine victims. The main victims strike a false note or soften the impact with consolatory sentiment while the truth comes out. This film is not an attack on the legal system that deals with child abuse investigations. The theme of the police and courts failing the innocent and protecting the guilty of Lucas during the legal proceedings into his accusations. The director assured a message full of discrepancies, intolerance, and resentment but at the same time each character is coming from- you might not agree with their actions, but nothing they do feels forced or unrealistic. This movie will make stay alert for any new Danish production because it is true art and won the Best Screenwriter prize at the 2012 European Film Awards, and was nominated for prizes in a number of other categories, including Best Film, Director and Actor. Magnolia Pictures will release the film theatrically in New York and Los Angeles on July 12, with a national rollout to follow.

The exact same movie besides some very slight changes…small improvements on picture quality, so Kutcher, 35, being tapped to play the late Apple co-founder was an overwhelming experience.

Stop supporting captivity of large aquatic mammals with Blackfish

Gabriela Cowperthwaite comes with BLACKFISH. Many of us have experienced the excitement and awe of watching 8,000-pound orcas, or “killer whales,” soar out of the water and fly through the air at sea parks, as if in perfect harmony with their trainers. However at this point may have destroyed the ability of some of the cetaceans to thrive in wild. Yet, in our contemporary lore this mighty black-and-white mammal is like a two-faced Janus—beloved as a majestic, friendly giant yet infamous for its capacity to kill viciously. BLACKFISH unravels the complexities of this dichotomy, employing the story of notorious performing whale Tilikum, who—unlike any orca in the wild—has taken the lives of several people while in captivity. So what exactly went wrong? Shocking, never-before-seen footage and riveting interviews with trainers and experts manifest the orca’s extraordinary nature, the species’ cruel treatment in captivity over the last four decades, and the growing disillusionment of workers who were misled and endangered by the highly profitable sea-park industry. This emotionally wrenching, tautly structured story challenges us to consider our relationship to nature and reveals how little we humans have learned from these highly intelligent and enormously sentient fellow mammals. Even if the injuries they inflict on one another when kept in close proximity It’s not all about the trainers, the footage was there to be seen and conservation and rehabilitation is great for this animals but not for some ex trainers who defend the right of a good documentary that is only trying to prove the point that orcas and marine mammals belong in the wild and not a tank doing tricks for food. Two thumbs up for this film which makes us think about life in captivity of killer whales as they are separated from their biological mothers.
