The film opened a week earlier abroad and has already earned $641.8 million globally. “The Avengers” also set a record for opening day gross in the United States, taking in $80.5 million on Friday. The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon. Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Chris Evans are also featured in the film.
'The Avengers' Successful $178 Million Overseas
The fim ‘The Avengers’ opened up internationally in the U.K and Germany. The film made a successful $178 million and beat opening weekend records in several territories such as Mexico, Brazil, and Taiwan. It had the second-highest debut in Australia. ‘Spider-Man 3’ is the only comic book movie that has had a better international debut. In 2007 ‘Spider-Man 3’ pulled in $554 million overseas and has the record for the best foreign gross for a comic book film.
